One afternoon, the grandmother accompanied the little girl to draw at home. When the little girl happily shared her work with her grandmother, she found that the grandmother was actually asleep. The little girl was upset that her grandmother ignored her work, because she did not understand why her grandmother would fall asleep during the day. After the grandmother explained patiently, the little girl finally understood the reason.
 
The author is a veteran early childhood education teacher. As our society is changing, she noticed that it is not uncommon for both parents to work long hours outside. As a result, parents are not necessarily the primary caregivers of children. The responsibility of taking care of children falls on grandparents. The author uses simple words and dialogues to make it easy for children to understand the story's meaning. This story teaches the children to respect the elderly and realize that although grandparents may not pay attention to them all the time, companionship is also an expression of love.
